Ram
The heavy casting that moves back and forth linearly, carrying the tool head. It is driven by the internal crank mechanism.
Tool Head
Mounted on the front of the ram, it holds the cutting tool. It can be adjusted vertically to control the depth of cut.
Work Table
The adjustable box-like surface where the workpiece is clamped. It moves horizontally to feed the work across the path of the tool.
Column
The main vertical body of the machine that supports the ram, houses the drive mechanism, and provides ways for the cross rail.
Cross Rail
The heavy horizontal casting that is mounted on the front of the column. It allows the table to be moved vertically and horizontally.
Stroke Adjuster
Controls the length of the ram's stroke to match the size of the workpiece being machined.
